| 16 Dec 2000 | Jenny M. Heidewald | Loading...He's cute! Did you do the lute thingie free hand as well? Whenever I do that sort of thihng I always have to use a ruler to make sure I am getting it correct! The only thing that bothers me a bit is the way his hips go,they looks a bit thin. [*heh* I am one to talk, all of my people recently have had bodies that are too big for their heads!]I think I used a strait-edge on the fret board... the head (thing with the tuning pegs on the top in this pic) needs to be changed, to be more authentic. This was a sketch that got out of hand ;^) so I am not surprised there are uncorrected bits like the hips. | |
| 23 Dec 2000 | Veronika Kronnäs | Loading...For a sketch this is very good, I think! Good expression, good clothes, good everything. Though he doesn't exactly look curious, rather surprised and either tired or dizzy, since his eyes are half-closed. | |
| 2 Jan 2001 | Marissa C. Stanley | Loading...The hand! THE HAND!!! His right hand!! He has a musician's hands for sure. His hair is really superb... his eyes are excellent... all right, his whole entire self is rather scenic. Mmm.... I wonder why I like bards so much.....???!!! Just can't resist a bad-boy rocker, eh? | |
| 20 Feb 2001 | Michiel Alexander Hendriksen | Loading...Now this one is sooo good! It's THE bard Very realistic, very good representation, and man... good details. I love this scetch. So then shall I name him Mr. Shakespear? :^P | |
| 5 Nov 2001 | Audrey S. Totire | Loading...I like this one for the simple sketchiness. Sometimes coloring can take away from the design.I agree, color is not always a good thing for a composition, and I like the unfinnished feel to this one in particular. | |
| 25 Dec 2002 | JMJ | Loading...Had to comment: Being curious may lead to a surprise! I just wonder just what did he found. Certainly something he can rest his eye on. ;') Has anybody read Eddings' books? I only say this because in the books Silks' father was never very well described, but it came very clear that he did find his way to the bedchamber of the king of certain nation... or his young wives bedchamber, should we say. And for those who haven't read Eddings's (is it Eddings' or Eddings's?) books, they are worth it. They are more about telling the story than the story itself, but atleast I like it that way. And wonderful pic. This comment has grown too big, so I have to praise your wonderful bard as much as I can now. I like the hand, really, what is that wrapping around his wrist? I like the lute/gitarr/stringed instrument very much. Although I know nothing about medieval (or recent) instruments. Pretty good for sketch. I hope that MY drawings were as good as any scetch I see in Elfwood Well, I don't draw very often. Nice picture, as I have already said. I really should learn more about how to praise drawing/painting/costume//whatever one can praise. Atleast english starts again aftert christmas holiday, so maybe I can comment better then. And sorry about writing too much. I do it all the time. Andrew P. Morris replies: "Thank-you for commenting... and I actually love long posts. I have read some of Eddings work and enjoyed it greatly, unfortunately I don't have time for much recreational reading any more. Thanks for all the praise for my artwork." | |
| 27 May 2003 | Maku | Loading...I think Mr. Shakespeare would be a perfect name for him, he just brings the idea of a travelling bard to life... I can almost hear him... *strains... then realises her radio is on* *Yeeps and turns it off, blushing* *wanders off with an innocent look* Andrew P. Morris replies: "Was that Metalica or Rage Against the Machine... Oh, nevermind... ;^) Thank-you for commenting I enjoy discussion a lot, even if I don't get to post or update all that often anymore. " | |
| 26 Aug 2004 | Patrick R Derksen | Loading...Does he play any Clapton? Hey, this is a nice drawing. Great job on the face and hands. And I can honestly say that is the coolest lute I have ever seen drawn on Elfwood. ...I thinks it's a lute... Andrew P. Morris replies: "Heh! You got me... He loves blues and does a mean cover of "White Room" by Cream. He does have guitar hero hands. Let's be honest about the insturment... It is a Gibson "Les Paul" lute! I am glad you like it. He has a lot of character for someone who was never a character. Cheers, Andrew" | |
| 10 Aug 2005 | Kathryn Muntean | Loading...Ooh...I love his facial expression! I don't know if it is his face, or just the overall simplicity of this picture, but I keep finding myself coming back to it for more gazing. Whatever he is seeing is probably going to end up in the next song he writes. *grin* Wonderful job on the hands by the way... Andrew P. Morris replies: "Hello Kathryn, thanks for commenting! I think that he will do a song on the foolishness of half-naked barbarians called the "Ballad of Boxers & Briefs" I am glad you like the way it turned out. Take care, ~Andrew" | |
| 15 Apr 2006 | Phailin | Loading...he kind of reminds me of Cadvan in Alison Groggon's 'The Gift', except i imagined him without the beard and shorter hair. but the expression says it all! =] Andrew P. Morris replies: "Thanks for commenting - I am unfamiliar with the tale but will look it up. The expression was really what I was going for in this picture so I am glad it worked out! " | |
