SciFi and Fantasy Art: Estri of Daggerdale

This is the Druid and healer of the Duskriders adventuring company. She like the others, started in the Return of Randle Morn modules, and is currently in the Night Bellow.

Updated July 2004. I finished out the background and corrected the anatomy. Thank-yous to those who helped me see the problems with this picture.

First of all Andrew, I enjoy your style. Very much like anime meets traditional fantasy, if you don't mind my saying. Second, this is a very interseting piece. Not many artsists have drawn people in this position, much less bare-foot. You have pulled it off, however, and that stands as a testament to your talent. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I agree with the commentor above, your style feels very much like a fusion of High Fantasy and Manga. I'm not usually very much into these clear, crisp colours, but the way there's always a story behind and... Actually I really don't know why I like them. I just do. This one because I have a certain fondness for Druids...

I really like this pose. Sort of a "caught in an everyday task" kind of look. You don't see a whole lot of those in fantasy art.Estri is just sorta practical. Always ready to put the others back together again.

She truly looks like a druid/healer. I can't really say that it is, but there's something about this picture that I really LIKE. Maybe it's the combination of colours put together with her eyes and hair... Can't really say.

Your pictures are so nice--great images...just could you add a little more meat on their bones? She's a tad skinny. Nicely done otherwise. You have a lot of talent!Nope it is my style... but thanks.

Me again!---okay--I give you credit...look at some of our renaissance painters..."Madonna of the long neck" ---Michaelangelo's 'Pieta' and so on, you chose toothpick people as your style. Some of my characters are sort of distorted. Sometimes we are too caught up with realism...Sometimes I just plain throw them out of proportion. Anyway, I love what you have in your gallery.

:-) Andrew P. Morris replies: "Hi Audrey, Thanks for posting again! I have new stuff on the way that should please you to some degree. I have of late found myself doing more pencil work. It should be up sometime. "

I'm not sure but she kind of reminds me of Julia Roberts or maybe even moore Carrie-Ann Moss. I like it a lot, especially the long slim legs.

:-) Andrew P. Morris replies: "Thanks for posting, I don't see Julia Roberts at all, maybe a little of Carrie-Ann Moss though. "
